The Riverside ConnectionMrs. Peoples is the gifted teacher for grades 7 through 12 in the Riverside School District. In addition, she is also the technology integrator and assists teachers with the implementation of technology in their classrooms. She is a native of Moosic, Pennsylvania and proud graduate of Riverside High School. She ranked 3rd in her graduating class, and was a member of several clubs, organization, and sports. She was the President of the National Honor Society, and an active member of Student Council and the Ski Club. Although she played softball for several years, and was a member of the tennis team, Mrs. Peoples is best known for her running. She was the first and only state champion in track and field at Riverside. ----
Educational Background
Following high school, she pursued a degree in Psychology and Elementary Education from Moravian College in Bethlehem, PA. She continued to run, and became a National Champion in track and field. She earned her Master's degree in Classroom Technology and Instructional Technology certificate from Wilkes University. She is a certified Elementary Education teacher, Instructional Technologist, and Business Education teacher. She has been teaching for eight years. ----
Athletic Interest
Mrs. Peoples loves coaching. She has coached cross country at The University of Scranton and Marywood University. Mrs. Peoples continues to run on a daily basis. In 2007, she ran her first marathon and qualified for the Olympic Trials. In May of 2008, she tried out for the USA Olympic Marathon Team. She finished in 28th place after being seeded 66th. Her third marathon was also a success as she won the local Steamtown Marathon. In April of 2010, she ran the Boston Marathon and qualified for the USA Olympic Trials Marathon which will be held in Houston, Texas in January 2012.
Mrs. Peoples strives to excel at what she does, and continues to educate herself. She has a positive outlook on life, and hopes her students will always strive to be the best.
